A time for Romance #FriFotos

With Valentine’s Day just yesterday, this week’s #FriFotos theme is unsurprisingly  ‘Romance.’

Here’s a collection of images of some of the most romantic places I’ve been to, however, looking through my photographs there is without doubt, one of my all time favourites that says romance to me more than any other.

What could be more romantic than a walk in the snow at dusk, along the River Thames in London?

Perhaps a late night walk along the Seine in Paris?

…or a stroll along on the beach at sunset in The Gambia in West Africa.

Perhaps you’d prefer a meal for two in a restaurant overlooking the sea
on the island of Sal, Cape Verde?

One of my favourite spots for a romantic drink or a meal is in The Gambia
at Calypso Bar and Restaurant on Cape Point Beach.
The prefect place for a pre-dinner cocktail as the sun goes down.

And one of my favourite hotels in The Gambia is Ngala Lodge,
which came 4th in Trip Advisor’s recent top ten romantic hotels in the whole of Africa.

And I am delighted to be going back there in April as part of a very
exciting new project #BlogGambia

There will be more on that in a future post but in the meantime if you are unfamiliar with #FriFotos check out my previous post on another #FriFotos theme ‘urban’
which explains more about it.

They’re all gorgeous, romantic photos indeed. My favorite is the snowy shot along the River Thames. It’s both dramatic and romantic. I couldn’t take my eyes off it.

Great collection of romantic destinations. Could easily spend some quality time in any of them! I have to say…a romantic walk on the beach always speaks romance to me!

Thanks Anita.,I do love the sea, whether it’s as flat as a pancake or whipping up waves in a storm!

Oh…for romance, I love the quieter seas, but for reflection and solitude…whip it up, crash on the rocks and let my mind wander! Either way, I think I was meant to be close to water. It is amazing how quickly we become drawn to it.
