International Happiness Day (and the winner is…)

Firstly, I’d like to say a huge thank you to everyone who entered my first competition on ‘Travel With Kat’. I am really delighted with how many of you have entered by either leaving a comment or by emailing me. I’m sorry I couldn’t thank you all individually.

I’d also like to thank Katharine, from Zest for Taste, for donating such a lovely prize, this hamper of delicious goodies worth over £50.

The competition closed at midnight last night. A winner was picked at random from all those who entered and sent an email. I would loved to have been a fly on the wall when Shona in Lancashire read my email, saying she had won, as apparently she was grinning from ear to ear as she read it. Appropriately enough today is the UN’s first International Happiness Day and I’m really delighted to have made a total stranger happy today! Here’s her response… “That’s brilliant, I can’t believe I’ve won! Can’t wait to try these out.”

I certainly hope I can make a few more of you happy by running future competitions and giveaways.

I’m very happy at the moment as I’ll soon be off to Paris on a mission to learn more about their food and wine. Stay tuned to find out more and follow TravelWithKat on Instagram and Twitter for live updates!

Update 6th April: Shona just left this lovely comment on the competition post…

Hi Kathryn
Just a little update, I’ve tried the chorizo out of the hamper and I must say it is lovely! I had some on it’s own and used some on my home-made pizzas. I usually buy shop bought chorizo so I only have that as a comparison but they really are worlds apart! I’ve tried the olive oil drizzled over the pizzas which added a nice flavour too. I’m looking forward to trying out the balsamic vinegar and pasta too, just need to find some recipes to try!

Thanks again,
Shona

How apt that it’s international happiness day, it certainly made my day!
Thanks Kathryn for hosting the competition, I might have to try out your Red Wine Braised Chorizo recipe! Also thank you Zest for Taste, I really can’t wait to try these :)

Thanks Shona. I really enjoyed hosting this ‘giveaway’ and I hope you really enjoy all the lovely things in the hamper. The chorizo is delicious as it comes or braised in red wine. Try a bit of both!
