When I was given a pair of tickets to visit Salon du Chocolat in London, how could I refuse?

This world famous chocolate show visited London for the first time last weekend bringing together the best chocolate companies from the UK and around the globe such as Artisan du Chocolat, Paul a Young, Rococo, Hotel Chocolat, Lindt, Pralus and Bonnat. Here’s a few highlights from the show in pictures…

Chocolate tasting, talks and workshops

As well as the chance to taste samples from all these wonderful brands there were demonstrations, talks and workshops by acclaimed chocolatiers and chefs.

The Lindt sea salt chocolate was an unexpected favourite for me.

Chocolate Fashion Show

The chocolate couture outfits, made and inspired by chocolate, were first seen at the preview evening’s fashion show. They were all on display throughout the weekend, including this amazing dress by Squires Kitchen’s Master Chocolatier, Mark Tilling. More pictures of the fashion can be seen on Metro’s blog.

Beautiful Chocolate

Whether familiar brands or names new to me, there were many stunning displays of packaging and visually appealing chocolate. The Highland Chocolatier and ChocoMe particularly caught my eye.

Fun Chocolate

The stall from Italy’s ChocoPassion was a great hit with their chocolate tools and animals selling fast.

As were these huge slabs of chocolate from Voyage Sucré. Hammer essential!

Not just chocolate!

Some very tempting nougats, cakes, macrons and even Moroccan pastries also featured at the event.

Chocolate Wedding Cakes

The highlight of London’s Salon du Chocolat for me, were the hand-crafted chocolate cakes by Lucie Bennett from Fleur de Sel, each one taking up to a week to make. Simply stunning!

A huge thank you to Eat, Cook, Explore for the tickets. They were put to good use!
