Walking down picturesque streets, wondering what will be around the next corner, discovering hidden gems, the perfect little coffee shop, a magnificent art deco doorway; there’s nothing quite like getting lost in a new city and making unexpected discoveries. However, have you ever returned home only to find out you had been in spitting distance of a fabulous place you would have loved to have visited, if only you had known it was there? I certainly have. And have you ever wondered when in a new city where you can find the best street food or street art or even perhaps, where is the absolute best place to buy a pint of Guinness in Belfast?
Read my articles offline with GPSmyCity on your phone or iPad
To find the answer to the latter you could head over to my post Top 12 Things to See and Do, Eat and Drink in Belfast or, better still, you can now download this article (and many other great travel stories) to read offline here on GPSmyCity. You’ll need to download the app first to your phone or iPad.
Now here’s the really clever part, you also have the option to link to an offline map and GPS navigator making it super easy to visit the points of interest described in the article without the need for gobbling up data charges. This upgrade costs just 79p, part of which comes back to me to help with the cost of running my blog.
Here’s a list of my articles to date available through GPSmyCity.

On each Sightseeing Walk, as you meander from one highlight to the next, you can read an informative description of that sight. These really bring a city to life and make your walk all the more interesting.
Each city guide can also be read for free or upgraded to include the maps and GPS navigation for just £3.99 (or $4.99 depending where you are in the world) for each city bundle. To help you discover just how great they are I have 20 upgraded city apps to giveaway. I’m off to New york soon for a long weekend and this would be perfect! Fingers crossed.
This sounds really handy and I agree, the Harry Potter walk must be such fun! I know one of the sites used in the films but not any of the others
Such a good idea! I love to walk around a city as it’s the best way to really get to know it with all those hidden gems that only the locals know about. I’d choose Cusco as that’s where I’m heading next… 🙂
Oh dear, I think that may be one city that isn’t part of the app yet but i;m sure there will be others you’d like. Even the one for London has shown me a few great places I didn’t know about or didn’t know much about.
what a great idea. I often don’t get time to just walk with the kids, but I think if I had a set place and time in mind I would love to. Specially that Harry Potter trail 😀
Me too. I’ve got the London app and the Harry Potter one is top of my list. My other half worked on a couple of the films so I might be a tad biased but I love them!
