What not to miss at The Photography Show 2019
There are several different stages featuring an exciting range of talks and demonstrations from the experts.
Super Stage Highlights
From the former Chief Official White House Photographer for President Obama, Pete Souza, to National Geographic photographer Annie Griffiths, the Super Stage will feature a range of inspirational speakers sharing insights into what drives and inspires them. Tuesday looks like a particularly interesting line-up, with the Instagram adventurer Chris Burkard and the award-winning wildlife cameraman and presenter Gordon Buchanan. Chris is a well-respected photographer, filmmaker and Instagram legend. I featured his work back in 2015 in a ‘who to follow on Instagram’ round-up on Boutique Travel Blog. He’ll be sharing some of the greatest lessons he’s learned during his travels to the most remote and wildest places in the world. Later that day Gordon will talk about the weird and wonderful wildlife he’s encountered over more than 25 years of travel to some of the most challenging and dangerous environments on the planet.
Other stages include:
Editing Suite — Sessions here will cover a range of topics suitable for all skill levels, including basic retouching, adding effects, and what’s possible with the latest editing software.
Photo Live Stage — Practical demonstrations covering a range of topics, from using flash to capturing the movement in dance.
Wedding and Portrait Stage — From overcoming the challenges the weather may throw at you to capturing emotion in a family portrait.
Behind the Lens Theatres — Techniques to producing engaging, creative content.
Drone Zone — Discover the best equipment and techniques for aerial photography.
Social Stage — Be it YouTube, Twitter or Facebook, this range of seminars focuses on capturing content that millions will want to see AND how to make sure they see it!
Women Who Photo
One of several inspiring exhibitions at the show, Women Who Photo showcases the work of some leading female photographers and filmmakers. These women are all making their mark on what are even now considered by many to be male-dominated industries. Many will also be leading talks at the show, including Holly-Marie Cato, a London-based, freelance photographer and filmmaker with a passion for travel, community and street photography, and the inspiring British wildlife photographer, Tesni Ward. Holly-Marie’s talks are on the Tuesday, while Tesni’s are on the Saturday and Sunday.
What not to miss at The Video Show 2019
Video is now more popular than ever, from sharing clips from your holiday with friends to professional film-makers promoting everything from vacations to climate change on the internet. This year, more people will be spending more time watching videos on the internet than ever before. To reflect this growth and the close synergy between photography and video, The Video Show makes its debut alongside The Photography Show in 2019. This is the place to get your hands on the latest tools and gadgets and improve your skills from filming to post-production and everything in between. Some of the biggest brands and most experienced film-makers will be there, including Rupert Cobb (brought to the show by Panasonic), with his insights on creating a music video from start to finish, and multi-award winning Ivo Marloh, sharing his approach to making adventure documentaries.
