I love following my fellow travel bloggers on Instagram, just as much as I enjoy sharing highlights from my travels there. From tasty camel burgers and kebabs to the most delectable pastries and miniature cakes, I’ve had plenty to gram over the last few days, as I ate my way around Dubai, enjoying the delights of this year’s food festival.
I’ve so much to share with you from this trip but I’d like to start with a quick round-up of the highlights, as seen on Instagram over the last week, not just from myself, @TravelWithKat, but also from my fellow food lovers @TheTravelBunny, @LondonMay and @micspicster.
The food frenzy started in the Emirates lounge at Heathrow, where they had the most fabulous choice of tempting treats that I’ve ever seen in an airport lounge. The perfect start to any journey.

Looks like you had a great time, Kat! Some real treats there, by the looks of it… Emirates always seem to do a great job of looking after their passengers. Love that view from the 125th floor of the Burj Khalifa… so clear!!
Great photos – looks like a tasty time, you definitely saw a real mix of the place with the food tour and festival!! Really glad you got out into the desert, the city was just too big for me that I loved our time in the desert the most!
There really is a great variety of things to do there – the desert and the old town souks were my favourites but I pretty much loved it all really.
Oh Kat it seems such a long time ago already! Such drool-worthy grams – the food was amazing 🙂
It does indeed already seem ages ago and I can’t believe we fitted so much in (and so much great food too!)
Very cool, love the instagram post of Dubai, it is very colorful. I need to do some thing like this too.
It’s a fun type of post to do when you first get back from a destination and I’ve found them quite popular with my readers too. You should definitely try it.
All these pics are so drool worthy. All these photos make Dubai come alive!
The food was wonderful and there was such a variety. Would love to go back one day and discover even more.
Hi, Kat.
Wow! The food looks incredible. Love your pics. Thanks for sharing! I love Instagramming, too. I think it’s a great way of recording one’s travel impressions and sharing them with others in a quick & easy way.
I will definitely check out @TheTravelBunny’s pics! I love and follow her blog as well. Are you ladies there on a travel convention or just for fun?
Cheers,
G.
We were on a press trip with Dubai Tourism. I’ve been on a few trips with Suzanne (aka The Travel Bunny) now and we always have a really great, food-filled time.
Great post! I’ve always wanted to visit Dubai but I had never really thought about the food there. Everything looks delish though. I’m especially intrigued by the idea of camel burgers…
Thanks Christina. There’s a vibrant food scene here that is still building momentum. Now is a great time to enjoy it, before it is on everybodies else’s radar.
It was lovely to meet you briefly at the Farmers’ Market Kat. Always enjoy seeing the place I live through other people’s eyes. You certainly got to see many sides.
It was great to meet you too, as you say if only briefly. Hopefully I’ll return one day. I’d love to see more of the old town in particular and I’m sure you could point me in the right direction for more wonderful food finds!
I love instagramming too.
You have presented a different, calorie laden, view of Dubai that few know exists. I never really had a yearning to go to Dubai and it languished near the bottom of my “places to visit before I die” list. Now, after all those food Instagrams it has moved up the list.
Great post as always
Look out for more from Dubai over the coming weeks and it will be moving up that list I’m certain. I know you’d particularly enjoy exploring the old town.
Hi!!! Lovely pictures… would have loved to catch up with you in Dubai… Inshallah next time!
That would have been great – what a shame! I see you recently posted about Creekside. Of all the places we ate at that has to be my favourite.
